Each of our attorneys have been in practice since 1983. Our attorneys are licensed in the states of Oregon, California and Arizona and are admitted to practice in both State and Federal courts. We serve clients in the areas of business law, employment, civil rights, real estate, wills and trusts, estate planning, conservatorships, guardianships, probate and trust administration.

Jack OswaldJack Oswald has practiced law since 1983, including four years working with Sidley & Austin in Los Angeles, one of the nation's largest and most prestigious law firms. During that time he represented such Fortune 500 companies as AT&T, Borden, Baxter Healthcare, Upjohn, ICI Americas, National Convenience Stores and the G.D. Searle & Co. division of Monsanto, handling all aspects of their corporate, general negligence and product liability litigation. Since co-founding Oswald & Mitchell in 1989, he has handled business and civil rights litigation from the simple to the complex in state and federal courts. He has also argued and won appeals in state and federal appellate courts. He also handles all aspects of business law with an eye towards protecting clients from future litigation. He received his law degree from UCLA Law School and his political science degree with honors from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Oregon and California State Bar Associations. |
Virginia G. MitchellVirginia G. Mitchell has practiced law since 1983 in the public, private and corporate sectors. After Judicial clerkships for a federal judge and a federal presiding magistrate judge, she was a deputy district attorney for Multnomah county in Portland, Oregon, where she tried over 130 jury and court trials. She then worked as a corporate counsel for National Video Inc., a national franchiser of video rental outlets throughout the United States and Canada, handling all aspects of National Video's legal affairs and litigation. She works with small and medium sized businesses in all of their legal matters. Her representation of business clients includes handling their litigation before mediators, arbitrators, and state and federal courts. She also works in the area of estate planning, preparing wills and trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives. Her practice includes handling probates, trust administration, conservatorships/guardianships as well as litigating such matters. She has served on the Washington County Bar Association as a board member, treasurer, and secretary, as well as Chair of the Washington County Judicial Screening Committee. She has also served as a board member of the Beaverton Library Foundation. In 2003, Ms. Mitchell originated legislation of a law that assesses treble damages against those who defraud the elderly. She received her law degree from UCLA Law School and her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She is a member of the Oregon, California and Arizona State Bar Associations. |
